Therapeutic Plasma Exchange

Billy Pullen, DVM, DACVIM (SAIM)

Dr. Billy Pullen grew up in the Chattanooga area and continued a family tradition by attending the University of Georgia, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1996 and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. Following veterinary school, he completed a rotating internship at Garden State Veterinary Specialists in New Jersey and pursued additional advanced training in internal medicine.

Dr. Pullen began his career in general practice but quickly found his passion in the complexities of internal medicine. Since then, he has worked in both academic and private specialty settings, with clinical interests that include gastrointestinal disease, autoimmune disorders, and critical care.

At CTAC, Dr. Pullen oversees the therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) program, using advanced technology to treat immune-mediated and toxin-related diseases. He brings a thoughtful, problem-solving approach to patient care and plays an integral role in CTAC’s commitment to innovation in specialty medicine.

Outside of work, Dr. Pullen is a proud father to two sons, Luca and Connor, and enjoys being a dad and trying to keep up with two very active boys.
